Of Dance and Deception
The objective of the game is to detect strange phenomena within a dance. Meet the elusive and mysterious fox shrine maiden who declares that you must bear witness to all of the rituals she performs in order to return home.
Her dances must be completed eight times in a row, however a mysterious apparition will interfere with the ritual and attempt to tempt and deceive you by impersonating the fox maiden. Will you be able to tell the real from the fake and return to your original world?
The maiden is voiced by Uchida Maaya herself, known for voice roles in hit anime such as Bocchi the Rock and Urusei Yatsura.
The Nintendo Switch version allows players to see the fox shrine maiden in all her glory on a large TV screen or discreetly in handheld mode. Enjoy the game through a variety of different experiences!

Stream The Original Soundtrack!
To commemorate the release of the Nintendo Switch version, original music from “The Fox’s Way Home” will be available on all streaming platforms starting from January 16th 2025! Immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of “wa” as the track draws deep inspiration from the traditional Japanese ceremonial dance of “Kagura”.

Gameplay – Find the Fake
“One! If you believe it is my real self, call upon my name!”
“Two! If you think it to be an impostor, see through the deception at once!”
“Know that if you err in either, the ritual fails immediately!”
Take a good look at the example and make sure you remember the fox maiden’s appearance, dance, and the surrounding scenery. Once the Trial of Identification begins, observe what’s before you carefully to see if you can spot any strange phenomenon.
If you notice something strange during the dance, chant “fake” before the timer reaches 0 to successfully identify the mysterious apparition.
If you don’t find anything suspicious, chant “true” or watch the dance to the end. If the fox maiden is indeed real, your identification will have been successful. A word of warning, do not be fooled by her sensual charms, stay vigilant to avoid missing unusual behavior!
